I have a round orange pill that is marked 60 on 1 side and N on the other. Could somone please tell me if this is a Morphine pill? Thank you in advance. ## Did you perhaps mean to say "M" instead of "N"? The Morphine pill that fits your description (of orange and round) has an M inside of a box, imprinted on one side and the number 60 imprinted on the other side. If this sounds like a match, then your pill is Morphine sulfate SR (60 mg), manufactured by Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals. For further verification, the National Drug Code (NDC) for this pill is: 00406-8380 I hope this helps! ## I appreciate your responding to my question, however the letter marked on the pill is in fact an N and not an M as you suggested. I have been taking ms 60mg for six months. first i received a light tanish round waxy pill with a coating. then 3 months ago i received the same but burnt orange in color. same markings abg and 60. the pharmacy told me that the manufacturer had switched to a different color. idk why, but half of my script was tan and the other orange. 2 months ago i received only orange ones. and then last month i received oblong orange ones marked e655 and 60. these are more chalky and do not have wax. they ARE the same thing only different binders. If you prefer the ones with e655 ask your pharmacist for the ones made by ENDO Labs. ## It is completely normal for your pharmacy to switch what generic medication they provide, at any given time, depending on which manufacturer was offering the cheapest pr... ...

Is the orange coating on my 60 mg morphine part of the extended release? If I wiped it off would it become immediate release? ## I really can't tell you anything about the time release mechanism that's used, without knowing the specific tablet you are talking about. Are there any markings on it, or do you know who the manufacturer is? Then again, that may also be moot, because it is not advisable to try and change how a medication is designed to work. ## To anyone wanting to remove the extended release film on any drug, you are asking for big trouble. Do you know how many people die every year from this sort of behavior? Come on folks people like you are making it hard on others to even get their meds much less take them. ...
