I was on omeprazole for about 3 years and it worked great. The last time I had it refilled it made my acid reflux worse and gave me nausea. My husband was taking generic 40mg Simvastatin made by Accord Healthca. They are oval brick red with S 6 on side 1. Can we cut them in half to get 20mg dose. His Dr wrote a new prescription for 20mg and I hate to waste a half full bottle of the 40mg . ## This can safely be done with any medication that isn't time released, as long as there aren't specific instructions on the label that tell you not to do so. Prescribing a new dosage is just a definite way to make sure the person is getting the correct dose, because when you cut a pill in half, there can be some irregularities, but they are usually miniscule. I was taking 2 white 5mg oxycodone IR tabs 2x/day but they were only partially useful in reducing my pain. My doctor reluctantly prescribed 2 pink 10 mg oxycodone IR (= 20mg) tabs every 12 hours. The number 048 is on these tabs. I have had them for three days now and I am taking them as prescribed, but they do not seem to work nearly as well as the former 5mg white tabs. Is this an issue that is simply in my head or is there a reason why taking 2 of the pink 10 mg tabs twice a day aren't working like I thought they would? Been taking lisin 20mg. 2 tabs, bp is 127/83 Doctor added metrpol tar 25mg twice a day, wondering why as bp doesnt sound that high ## No, that isn't high, at all. Doctors usually don't fret about those types of numbers. Did you ask your doctor why they were adding it? Have you possibly had an elevated heart rate? The concern is the synchronicity of the medications, usually taking two causes them to work synergistically, so you get even more lowering of your blood pressure and heart rate. Thus, at 127/83, you could end up with it dropping too low, if you take both.
