there is no writing on the capsule but the bottle it was in said morphine DSS 15 - 50 milligram morphine ## Hello, Paigey! How are you? From what you've listed, it seems you may have found a medication that was specially ordered by someone's doctor and made by a compounding pharmacy, because this isn't something that's available as a standard manufactured medication. Morphine is a narcotic analgesic and the DSS usually stands for Decussate Sodium, which is a laxative and stool softener, likely added in to counteract the constipation that the Morphine can cause as a side effect. This medication also carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause other side effects, including nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth, as listed by the FDA. Is there anything else I...

Hi, my mentrual period delayed for 15 days already since i stop taking althea. The doctor prescribed 3 packs but i only finished the 2 packs to regulate my menstrual period. Is this the effect after taking the pills? Please advise. ## Yes, that can happen, when you take oral contraceptives, then suddenly stop them. Other symptoms, as listed by the U.S. FDA, may possibly include headache, irritability, and PMS-like symptoms. It could take a few months for things to return to normal. Why didn't you take the full 3 months?

how is it possible to take 15mg of citalopram? I was on 10 but felt flat then moved to 20 mg whihc gave me headaches so it been suggested that 15mg would help but since the tablet come in 10 mg 20mg and 40mg i have no idea how to take 15mg ## @netty, Based on your individual needs, I think it would be wise to go ahead and talk to your doctor about the option of cutting your pills into fractioned dosages. This way you can have more control over how much you're getting. Are these tablets marked with a score line by chance? ## Yes but I'm not sure how to get 15mg from 20 mg tablet ## Cut the 20 in half - you then have 10mg each half. Then cut one of the halves in half again. Each half is 5 mg. Take one half and one of the smaller halves that is 15 mg. They have pill cutters or just...

15 mg hydrocone in red capsule with a crown marking csei ## Is that the entire marking? There is no 15mg Hydrocodone that's regularly available on the U.S. market. It is only available in the manufactured products in a maximum of 10mgs of the Hydrocodone coupled with various strengths of Acetaminophen. Learn more Vicodin details here. If it's a 15mg capsule, then it would have to have been specially ordered by a doctor and done by a compounding pharmacy and them, it wouldn't have a unique marking, it would just have whatever is on the capsules they use, if anything and it won't be listed in any databases because of that. Where was it found?

Red capsule with no markings? Are they legit? ## Hello, Lizzie! How are you? It is very doubtful. Any manufactured prescription products in the U.S. are required to have unique markings to enable their identification. The only exception would be something done by a compounding pharmacy and they usually use plain capsules, since they are cheaper. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Thus, what you have is most likely some type of over the counter product. Does anyone else know more about these?

I take 15 mg Meloxicam once a day. It is helpful relieving pain for about 12 hours. Can I cut the pill in half and try taking them every 12 hours? ## Just started taking Meloxicam 3 days ago. My Dr. said to only take half for at least a week and then if needed I can increase to a full pill. Hope that helps. ## Hi, Donna! How are you? It's really hard to advise on so little information. Anyone reading this knows nothing about your medical condition and history, other medications you may be on or etc. Learn more Meloxicam details here. This is a potent NSAID, so it can cause some problematic side effects, such as nausea, increased risk of bleeding and stomach ulceration. Thus, before changing anything, you should consult your doctor to make sure it is safe for you to do so. Are there ...

Which medication is stronger: 15 mg Morphine ER or 10/325 Oxycodone or Hydrocodone 10/325 ## They are very similar. My doctor has put me on and we've tried to figure out what works. best. I get 10mg Norco & 20mg Oxycodone, and I alternate, it REALLY helps!!! (I have a LOT of medical issues.) ## @birdie, I think as post #1 suggested, you pretty much just have to work with your doctor to find out what best suits your level of pain. Some people debate that oxycodone is a step up from hydrocodone. I think the answer may vary with each individual based on personal preference. And as far as comparing morphine ER to immediate release oxycodone, there's probably no easy way to determine an equivalent dose since one is being slowly released...However if it's of any help, the foll...

is 1 15mg morphime IR stronger than 2 10mg 325 oxycodone tablets ## Yes there stronger ! Morphine has a high acting effect on the neural pathway and does a much better job for relief from what ails us all ! Check a pharm scale the oxy is like 6 or 7 on th list morphine is 2 ! ## hydromorphine 32mgEX what do they use for breakthrew pain..? ## Actually no, Oxycodone is stronger than Morphine by one and a half times. In other words for each 10mg dosage of Oxycodone, you'd need to take 15mgs of Morphine to be equivalent. You can learn more Morphine details here and you can learn more Percocet details here. Additionally, the Acetaminophen in the Percocet potentiates the action of the Oxycodone to help it work better. oldtimefiend, there isn't any specific medication that has to be us...

I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I haven't started yet but am worried it won't work as well. Help ## Since it is a lower dose, it may not manage your pain as well and you may also experience some withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills and diarrhea. Is the...

i want to reduce dependence on pain meds (6 yrs. so my Doc ordered me morphine sulphate 10 mg capsules instead of the MS 15 mg ER. Insurance won't approve the change due to cost & now while the Doc & insurance are arguing about it I'm running out of MS tonite. Doc hasn't called back. I do have some 5/325 hydrocodone but not sure how much to take in lieu of the MS 15 ER. ## Have you had any luck, yet? I know how frustrating it is, when your insurance is controlling your treatment, rather than your doctor. What is the difference between 15 mg morphine and 15 mg morphine er ## Hello, Renee! How are you? The ER designates that one as being time released, so the dose is slowly released over a period of 12 hours, the one without such a designator is a regular release pill, so the complete dose is released within about 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Doc prescribed me 15 mg of Morphine. Ive been on vicodin 7.5 mg for three years. How much of a difference is morphine? I took half of the blue pill just now. ## The Morphine is stronger than the Hydrocodone in the Vicodin, it is also a straight narcotic, without the Acetaminophen that is in the Vicodin. It sounds like your doctor is trying to help you get better control of your pain. The main issue here is, what type of Morphine pills are they? If they are the time released version, generics for MS Contin, then cutting the pill in half could be very dangerous and should not be done. It can cause you to have too much of the medication released at once. The side effects are similar and may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. I'm taking 15mg of slow release morphine 2x a day and feel no relief what so ever. It's been 5 days now. Should I request higher doses? ## Hello, Sarge! How are you? I am sorry that you're in pain. And yes, it may be best to speak to your doctor about exploring other options, such as raising your dosage, or trying a different medication. Just be careful not to demand any particular option, since that could cause them to assume you're drug seeking. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Hi. I have been on 60 mg of morphine sulfate for 3 years. Me and my doctor talked about either upping my dose of morphine or changing it, so we went with a higher dose of morphine. When I filled my Rx I noticed it was for 15 mg of morphine. Is 15mg of morphine stronger than 60mg of morphine? Both are extended release. ## Hi, I was on morphine for 4 years and 60 mg. Is definitely stronger than 15. He lowered your dose or you should have gotten both the 60mg and the 15 mg. To go along with the 60mg. Thats what my dr. gave me when I needed more. ## VALERIE: It doesn't sound like your doctor is very competent. How can 15mgs be STRONGER than 60 mgs? This makes no sense. Maybe he meant for you to take an ADDITIONAL 15 mgs with the 60? I would call them IMMEDIATELY!! ## Im sorry my mistake...

I take 15 mg Oxybutynin ER in the evening. This morning it came out whole in my stool. What's going on? ## Hello, Karin! How are you? I understand your concern, but I can assure you that it's completely normal. Some time released medications, such as this one, use the outer shell as part of the time release mechanism and it is not intended to be dissolved by your stomach acid. Think of it this way... the outer shell basically has 2 little holes in it, that are covered by a light coating and not very easy to see, the inner components are something similar to a sponge, plus the active medication... when you swallow the pill, your stomach acid dissolves that thin coating over the holes, then the sponge starts to absorb some stomach acid/fluids, which forces the medication slowly ou...

Hello, I live in Waldorf Maryland I was seeing a wonderful doctor until he passed away. I was getting 90 30mg pills until I changed it to 120 15mg. ( I know what your thinking but I didn't want to have to cut it in half when I needed less ). Because of all the crap associated with anyone taking an narcotic I'm having an extreme issue with finding another doctor. For years I saw this sweet old man and filled them in the office pharmacy I had no idea there was this much of a stigma about the pain drug and the people that take them. If anyone knows of a doctor that I could talk to that dose not give people the run around. ## HI, Gail! Sorry about the problem that you're having. Since you were seeing the same doctor for a very long time, you may not be aware of everything associ...

I have taken up to 15 mg of oxycodone a night just to take the edge off. I want to be off them completely. I have went 5 days with 15 mg before and withdrawals werent that bad. I have taken one quarter of a methdaone wafer for the last 2 days. I know it takes 3-7 days to withdrawal. does this mean I am almost clean? ## Hi Samantha, From my perspective it sounds like your strong intention to be off oxycodone will help make it an easier mental transition towards going with out them... but not having gone through this myself, I wouldn't know what amount of possible physical withdrawal symptoms to anticipate. Based on your description they theoretically shouldn't be any worse or drawn out than what you said you had experienced before. However I do think it would be wise to speak wit...
