Detrol vs Ditropan

Does anybody know which one of the two would be better for a severely overactive bladder? Have to go see a doctor on this but would like to have an idea before going and asking for a specific prescription. ## My personal experience, my doctor wanted to put me on Detropan, said it's highly effective. But my insurance would only pay for the Detrol LA. The first few days Detrol was great. Now, NOT so great so get a load of it: I had to make another appointment to discuss w/ my Dr. the drug he wanted to put me on in the FIRST place. He will, of course, have to fax my insurance company -- I don't know why he can't have that done WITHOUT me coming into his office?? It's not my favorite thing to have to wait a gazillion hours just to see him. ## I've been battling the same ...

define moiety

when reading about medicines and their TE codes with the FDA, I came across the term moiety of a medicine. Does this mean its bioavailability or does it mean something else? Thank you in advance for your attention and response. Jane ## See definition below: 'In chemistry, a moiety is a specific segment of a molecule. For example, aniline has a phenyl and an amino moiety. Ethidium bromide has both these. '

Why are so many wanting Hydrocodone Bitartrate?

Why the mad dash for vicodin? Are so many willing to ruin their liver for a couple hrs of a buzz? ## Sometimes lortab is the only thing that works for the pain. If aspirin worked, i'd take that. ## There are other less damaging remedies to the situation. I don't know your situation-but you may wish to consult a pain specialist for the empirical solution that may be at the cause. I don't claim that Lortabs are that harmful and you could certainly do worse.-best of health to you in the future. ## Thanks for the reply, but if i had the cause down pat i wouldn't need the solution right? ## -solution/diagnosis- I do not have all the answers. No one does. If you cannot manage your way thru the system of medical jargon,or at least keep a complete jounal of your symptoms-and rel...

weaning off xanax

I would like to start getting off Xanax xr gradually, how do I go about it......... ## Alprazolam is difficult to wean off, and FDA was considering withdraling it -- just like Methaqualone in the 1970s - then the parent company met with FDA behind closed doors -- You could try a long acting benzodiazepine like clonazepam - will prevent the withdrawl symptoms, but will not give you the kick that so many Xanax users like though. ## I have taken Xanax for years! I take it responsibly. I had a potassium problem a few years back and ended up in a very, very bad depression with anxiety attacks. I started on Potassium, Zoloft and Xanax to get through the terrible anxiety attacks I dealt with every day for a few weeks, till the medication kicked in. I was afraid to take the low dose of Xanax 3 ...

TAKES ALOT OF IT MORNING AND NIGHT TOO.. TAKES A DIFFERENT ONE AT NIGHT.. HE IS DOING WELL... WITH IT.. ## I myself am a drug addict, but have managed to stay clean for 18 months. I to was diagnosed as bi-polar. the truth is you cannot really tell until you have ben off the drug's(crack, herion, whatever) for about 6 months. Anti-Aging Drug

I've been hearing stories about people over 40 in the US taking metformin as an anti-ageing strategy. My source is pretty informal, though, and I've been wondering if anyone here knows more about it. How much are people taking? And what for, exactly? Thanks to everyone, James ## There is an interesting article on this which I have in my favorites titled 'An Effective and Underappreciated Life Extension Drug' It can be viewed at Personally I haven't ever tried using it but have always been interested in this topic as well.

It is used to break up congestion and mucous to make breathing easier. Guaifenesin thins mucous, increases lubrication of the respiratory tract (lungs, nose and throat), and increases the removal of mucous. Phenylpropanolamine is a decongestant. It constricts (shrinks) blood vessels (veins and arteries), which reduces swelling of mucous membranes in areas such as the nose and sinuses. Guaifenesin and phenylpropanolamine is used to treat the symptoms of the common cold and of infections of the sinuses, lungs, and throat.'
