can tablets be cut in half

i have just started taking 2mg tablet today and it is causing diarreah can i cut it in half and try it (it is very expensive here in Australia). also if i can cut it in half will the leftover half that i will take the next day still be effective (how long before deterioration of the cut half)? thanks in advance ## Hello, Cj! As to purchasing from another country, it would only be legal to import into the U.S. if there is no equivalent medication available or if a patient has not responded to those available medications. Then the FDA and U.S. Customs would give permission to get it. Otherwise, you would have to be in a country that has it available and have a doctor there prescribe it for you, then you would be allowed to bring in 3 months worth.
