Metolazone Overview

Metolazone is a thiazide-like diuretic marketed under the brand names Zytanix from Zydus Cadila, Zaroxolyn, and Mykrox. It is primarily used to treat congestive heart failure and high blood pressure. Metolazone indirectly decreases the amount of water reabsorbed into the bloodstream by the kidney, so that blood volume decreases and urine volume increases. Taking 2.5mg of Metolazone

I have been on it 2 times a day for about 3 weeks. For the last 2 weeks I have had this constant non-productive cough. I do not smoke and I am not around smokers, Also I am 60 years old. Could this drug be the reason for this constant cough? After I cough for so long I get winded and have trouble breathing. I also have had some stomach and nausea but I am overweight and the good side is I have lost my gigantic appetite. Should I contact my physician and ask to go off because of the constant cough? I just want some suggestions I am not going to get anyone in trouble, I am responsible for my own health. I just wanted some additional feedback. It seems that doctors do not have the time to become an expert on all the medication so it is up to the patient to get information to take to the do...
