Ethchlorvynol/θklrvanl/ was a GABA-ergic sedative and hypnotic/soporific medication developed by Pfizer in the 1950s.[3] In the United States it was sold by Abbott Laboratories under the trade name Placidyl.[1] Placidyl was available in 200mg, 500mg, and 750mg strength gel filled capsules.
