Atropine is a medication to treat certain types of nerve agent and pesticide poisonings as well as some types of slow heart rate and to decrease saliva production during surgery.[3] It is typically given intravenously or by injection into a muscle.[3] Eye drops are also available which are used to treat uveitis and early amblyopia.[4] The intravenous solution usually begins working within a minute and lasts half an hour to an hour.[2&am...

My doctor refused to refill this Rx for diphen atropine for 6 weeks. I have been taking this med for about 6-7 years now. It is the ONLY med that lets me lead a normal life without explosive diarrhea. If I don't take it, and I have to have a bowel movement, I have about 2 minutes to find a restroom. I usually don't make it and that is a mess. No warning at all. He finally renewed my prescription but wants me to have an Upper GI. How long can you take diphen atropine?
