What are the ingredients in this muscle relaxer? Does it contain Tylenol? Thanks

No, the active ingredient in Zanaflex is Tizanidine, it does not contain any Tylenol/Acetaminophen. It is a muscle relaxant that's used to treat the pain associated with muscle strains, sprains and injuries.

Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth.

I was just looking up the info on this and came across this. I'm on Zanaflex for a few reasons have been for years,this past Friday I had lab work done do for being on lipotor well long story short, Dr told me to stop taking both mess Zanaflex n lipotor due to high liver function on lab work.Dr said this med can mess with ur liver,due to antihistamines?

Really thank you so much for letting me know that is what I was worried about . I was diagnosised with fatty liver 4 years ago because of that product in Tylenol but have kept liver emezyes down not taking it and keeping diet under control. But watch every med I take I never want to go thru that again. I'm glad I've stop taking this med already also thank you and good luck to you make sure to get your blood tested in at least in 3 months. Have a great day!

Hey I did call cvs and they did say zanaflex didn't have Tylenol in it so you may want to check with your dr to see if it's the Lipitor . Hope this helps.

Zanaflex has been known to occasionally cause liver damage, but so can the Lipitor.

The Lipitor may also cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and joint/muscle aches.

Thanks Verwon and Wheeler, Dr wants me to come bk to redo lab work in 1 week (Friday ) this is with taking me off both meds,not really sure how they will determine which 1 was causing the problem,but I will update any useful info....

Wildone , yea I don't see how they would be how they will be able to see unless they take you off one at a time but still don't think your liver emezyes will change much in a week but I hope they do for you please keep us posted I am interested in seeing the out come. Guck luck! I hope they find some other way to control your needs for the reason you were on the meds in the first reason . Thanks for the update! Have a great day!

Usually, they'll have you start back on the one they suspect is safe for a little while, recheck the lab work and then, if all is well, have you add the next medication.

Unless, there isn't a concern about which it was and they just choose to try alternative medications.

Hello Verwon and Wheeler, wildone here well,nothing really to confirm still goin thru test had an ultra sound done came bk I have a fatty liver.my labs came bk lower this time still off my meds,Dr is sending me for an M.R.I and then off to a specialist for my liver. When I find out actually what is going on will post.. Thanks for the replies and concerns means alot....

Hey Wildone glad your starting to get some answers that is what I was diagnosised with a fatty liver from being on migraine meds that had Tylenol it the med specialist was really no help expect they will do liver biopsy to tell you what stage your liver is and that's inportant. But you can heal your fatty liver yourself and get your liver emezyes down there are natural liver flush you can try at health food store. That's a good place to start but I talk milk thistle most important and fish oil everyday watch what I eat not red meat I went on strict diet exercised and my have been normal now for 4 years and I did lose about 25 pounds but now I can everyonce in while have red meat as a treat! No Tylenol products make sure to put it on every chart at every dr you go to you wouldn't beleive how many meds it's in! Good luck and keep us posted !
