Xanax is slightly structurally different than klonopin. The main factor being that xanax has a shorter half life than klonopin. The drug gets into your system effecting you quicker and more intensely but also leaves your system more quickily than klonopin which comes on slower lasts longer and leaves the body quicker therefore making it easier to taper off of if that time does come.
