Worst Drug To Withdrawal From

I'm very nervous, i am currently taking 8mg of hydromorphone and 30 mg of oxycontin a day and might have to have a surgery. I suffer from chronic pain from hideous chronic neuro lyme disease. I started taking hydromorphone because it actually helps with terrible undeniable chronic pain. If i am told i need surgery i will have to tell them because i would not be able to come home for 3 days. I am prescribed the oxycontin but not the dilaudid, and i heard the withdrawals would be hell on earth. Any experience from anyone?

Certain medications can also interfere with anesthesia, so not tell them could put you at great risk, or possibly cause life threatening complications.

Thus, it is best to be honest and tell them everything you have been taking.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

However, since you are prescribed Oxycodone, that should keep the withdrawals from being too intense.
