Worried About Drug Test

I have been prescribed 10/500 mg of hydrocodone now for about 6 months, 1 tablet a day at bedtime for degenerative disk disease and a herniation at L5, at my check up today with my primary care provider who is also the prescriber, I asked for an increase to 2 tablets a day, he didn't seem to have much of a problem with it except he asked me when was the last time I took one I told him last night, then he asked me for a urine sample!!! Is he just checking to make sure I'm taking them? I'm worried because I do smoke marijuana for my anxiety and chronic stomach condition, can he just test me for the hydrocodone alone or
