I have been taking 1mg Xanax for about 3 months and then I went up to the 2mg Xanax now and have been taking them about 5-6 a day, well, finally ran out and being a medical professional, I can't go into my dr and say I need more when their not due or any drug seeking behavior. So my question is, if I was going to have a seizure from it would I have had it by now (its been 48 hours now)? Thanks

Hello, JaimeLyn! How are you doing? Did you suffer any ill effects from the withdrawal?

Its hard to give a time frame, because it can vary from person to person, it could be immediately, it may take a week or so, or it may never happen.

For me it was a two stage/two week process. Each day was different as the first week was spent at home, and the second week in the hospital. It would be irresponsible to give you any advice as you are at 6 mg a day and at very serious risk of stroke or death!
