Will They Give You Suboxone If You're On Klonopin

Im on klonopin in Im going 2 a suboxin clinic I don't take the klonopin any more changeing docters are they still gonna give me suboxin its my frist time going there

I have been on Suboxone and klonopin for a few years at the same time, prescribed by the same doc (I chose to make my sub dr my primary care doctor). my case is complicated though. I have a severe sleep disorder that requires me to take adderall which freaks me out but is the only med that has been able to keep me awake and somewhat alert for more than a couple hours at a time. also, I've been on suboxone for 7 or 8 years and only take four mg. (this is because I'm one of the few people - but there are others! - who gets considerably sicker every time I detoxed from opiates and when I was slowly weened off the suboxone after two years I ended up in the hospital two weeks after stopping b/c I was hallucinating I was so dehydrated and I couldn't keep the iv fluids in my body very long either. so my dr put me on the lowest amnt that one can take and not get withdrawals (however my doc recently told me that my 4mg is the same as someone else's 36 or 16 or whatever mg - the same way I guess one person's two Vics is another's oxy is another's Baggie, meaning: my brain is getting the same effect from the amount I take that it did when I took 16mg and if I went back up to 16 it would only be a very short while before it effected my brain exactly as the four mg does. so if a doc gives you a hard time about the two sedating drugs together, I would mention that. also, if you are not on klonopin already, I wouldn't go on it. not only does it target the same receptors as opiates (aka if you like one, chances are...) but the withdrawal effects are waaaay more serious and life threatening than opiates. benzos are not meant to be prescribed for longer than a few weeks. when I was 18 and my fiancé was dying, they gave me a month of Xanax. that's how theyre supposed to be used not like most docs use them. and they are worse for your nerves after a while (supposedly the longest that any pharm co.s claim that Benzodiazepines help with anxiety is four months and that's really stretching it. after that people just think it helps because their anxiety gets worse and worse whenever it's not in their body in increasingly higher dosages as a symptom of acute withdrawal). I don't mean to preach but who knows how many people read this and if someone does who I can prevent having to go thru the nite mare I will try. of course not everyone has a seizure or gets psychotic or suicidal or anxious 24/7 over it but 60-80% of people have these types of withdrawal effects from LOWERING their dosage (not stopping - just lowering). So yeah I got the adderall I hate but can't get rid of if I want to be able to think clearly and stay awake, the suboxone that almost kilt me, and the klonopin that may make me anxious if it's not the adderall. Then there's the SSRIs.... ;p
