Why Is My Doctor Taking My Anxiety Meds Away

after taking zanax for over 15yrs...all of a sudden I get a call from some nurse stating its too dangerous to take this medication along with my pain medication and they have taken from me....why?

The FDA lists Xanax as being a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. It carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

I realize this post was a couple of weeks ago, but i was wondering if i was prescribed antidepressants celexa 20mg half a day.and. anxiety meds xanax ..05 mg twice a day before being in transition will my new dr. That seemed willing to get me right in pick back up on my meds and get me stable again until i am referred to a pshchiatrist. I should add i take a half a mg xanax for sleep and rls. Thanks in advance and sorry posting a question under your question .

There's no way to know, that is entirely up to your new doctor. Some will, but some won't.

The best thing to do is not to ask for specific medications, when you see your new doctor, but to let your medical records speak for you, that way you don't look like a drug seeker, since Xanax is a controlled substance that is often abused.
