Why Does 1200mg Fish Oil Delayed My Period

I was waiting in may on 28 to receive my period. It didn't come. Every now and then I have a little blood in my discharge. I started taking spring valley fish oil with D3 2000IU (1200mg) heart, immune & bone.. in may on
the 5. I'm worried because I never missed my period before besides when I was 13. Please don't mention the doctors. I need to get my period back. Doctors don't really do much but make matters worst

It may be due to the vitamin D in this, since it is actually a type of hormone, not an actual vitamin, so it can affect the other hormones in your body. It might just be affecting you too much.

Have you tried stopping it to see what happens?

I have stopped. I can feel my body recovering slowly. I thought I was missing some nutrition and was pregnant. I never felt so sick in my life and from what I can recall, never missed a period. My mom thought I was over reacting when I told her these fish oil capsules make me feel like crap. At first I was taking cod liver, those were awesome, I had my period regular and I felt like myself. I was told the daily dose of 1200 mg was far too high that's why I feel so nauseous and bloated.

did you get your periods? I started eating Cod Liver oil capsules last month and missed my periods. It has never happened before. Any idea what can i do to correct it?

Hello I started taking cod liver oil not long ago and I took a conceptive pill after intercourse and I haven't had my period for weeks now. I had a pregnancy test and it was negative. So why haven't I had my period then?

I have only taken a few fish oil tabs this month and it has delayed my cycle. I am late and still have not started yet.

Hi - this happened to me as well. How long did it take for you guys to get your period back??? I only took cod liver oil for two weeks prior to period and it’s delayed almost five days :(

How long after stopping the pills did your period return? I only took them two weeks leading up to my period and I’m late :-( I’m so sad

I am from India at age 35, even i had regular periods but after consuming E-COD Liver oil that too just for 8 dose. It has delayed my problem with 8 days and still hasn't come , also there's stomach pain. I consulted the Dr on call and they were like they haven't found any studies regarding the same.
