White Round Pill With Z D 15 On It

Found a pill that's white and round with 'ZD 15' in my son's room. Do u know what it is for sure?

This tablet is manufactured by Zydus Pharmaceuticals and they list it as containing 50mgs of Topiramate, which is used to treat or prevent convulsions, and some migraine headaches.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, mood swings, and weight changes.

This is Topamx. It's for migraines . I take them daily for a couple of years now, he only had about 1/2 a daily dose if he has a 50mg pill. Thing is, you need to take about 100mg a day for about a week before they are in your system for them start to help with migraines, one pill won't do anything for him. One pill is basically a waste so to speak it doesn't help w pain or treat anything; topamax is a preventative not a pain releaver.

They can suppress your appetite... so if he's not concerned about headaches he may be concerned about weight gain? Boys are just as insecure about their appearance as girls are, especially these days. Not to mention sports like wrestling really put pressure on kids to maintain specific pounds that can be unrealistic on growing bodies...

The medicine isn't supposed to be used in this way but when I started it for migraines I had a difficult time not disappearing! Took me a bit to realize this medicine was working against me.

Hope thats not why but it could be so anyone with this concern should be aware of this side effect. It could be a motivation for taking it to anyone with weight concerns and having kids myself.. I know I'd be worried about that so I figured I'd mention it.
