If a tablet has no markings on it, then it is most likely an over the counter product.

All manufactured prescription tablets in the U.S. are required to have unique imprints to enable them to be identified, but that is not the case with over the counter products.

Thus, these can be difficult to narrow down.

Does anyone have any idea what they may have been?

NO imprints for even a OTC is not likely - may be homemade or South American Rx (but even there you are most have some sort of marking - sometimes just a "symbol" of Trade Mark, etc.) - my advise is to throw it away - never ingest no ID pill (Russian Roulette with your life - Yikes!)
