Hi Maria,

From what I could gather, Gentilax contains the active ingredient Phenolphthalein. Apparently there is no specified time frame that one should be taking this medication. So it sounds like you can just use it as needed.

A recommended oral dose is 1 to 2 tablets, however its effects are said to be cumulative by increasing or decreasing the amount you take.

The active ingredient of Gentilax is phenolphthalein. It usually produces a bowel movement in 6 to 8 hours. So if you were to take a dosage at say, for example, 8 am in the morning you could be having a bowel movement as soon as 2 pm or more likely around 4 pm in the afternoon.

I take Gentilax at 11:30 am then eat a normal lunch. At about 7:30 in the evening the Gentilax produces a comfortable bowel movement.

How long does it take Gentilax to stop because when i take it works very fast for me like in an hour , so how long would it take for it to stop working

The time it takes to stop working varies from individual to individual. It sounds to me like you may have taken too strong of dosage. The dosage can be adjusted to suit your individual needs. There is a line scored on the Gentilax tablets so that you can cut the tablet in half. So instead of a two tablet dose you could take 1.5 tablet dose as an example. Normally, I take a two tablet dose and it gives me a soft, easy movement in about 6 to 8 hours. Then it's done.
