THERE IS NOT A GENERIC OXY OXYCONTIN, IF THAT IS WHAT YOU ARE REFERRING TOO. OXYCONTIN STILL HOLDS THE PATENT TO THAT DRUG, AND UNTIL IT RUNS OUT INABOUT 7 YEARS NO ONE CAN MAKE A GENERIC. BEWARE OF ANYONR TRYING TO GIVE YOU A GEN OXYCONTIN BECAUSE THEY DO NOT EXIST. WHAT YOU'RE DESCRIBING SOUNDS LIKE A GENIRIC XANAX PROBABLY 0.5 MG OR THAT IS THE ONLY THING THAT COMES TO MIND RIGHT NOW.XANAX CAME OUT IN 85 86 I THINK, AND IT WAS ABOUT 7-10 YEARS BEFORE ANYONE COULD MAKE A GENERIC. I NOW BECAUSE MY DOCTOR SWITCHED ME FROM VALIUM TO XANAX WHEN THEY FIRST COME ON THE MARKET

INCORRECT! There are now generic Oxy's available. The proprietary patents do not last that long under the new drugs laws because of their efforts to lower the cost of prescription drugs.

I am not sure where you get your information but it is totally incorrect. Generic Oxy's have been on the market for almost a year already!

Further information, generic Oxy's have been on the market for even longer than I thought, they have been available, as you can see from this DEA article since MARCH of 2004.
