My doctor has prescribed Telma H for maintaining blood pressure. It was changed to Telma 40 but did not give a full explanation why. On the net I have seen there is Telma AM as well. I am diabetic and with medication its under control. My confusion is regarding the various Telma's

Hello, Kuldip! How are you?

There are different ingredients in each one.

Telma only contains the active ingredient Telmisartan, Telma H contains Telmisartan and Hydrocholorothiazide, while Telma AM contains Telmisartan and Amlodipine, all of them are used to treat high blood pressure and some cardiac conditions.

The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects for such combinations as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination and hypotension.

They are sometimes also prescribed for diabetics to help protect against kidney damage.

Is there anything else I can help with?
