Hi Sharlene,
It depends if the more detailed instructions say "3 tablets once per day" or "1 tablet 3 times per day".
If they indicate something more like one tablet at a time (3 times per day), this generally indicates 1 tablet every 8 hours (unless otherwise noted). So I think breakfast, lunch and dinner would be a good way to spread this out. Since 8 hours goes into 24 hours [a full day] 3 times, this means you could take one tablet at 5am, the second tablet at 1pm and the third tablet at 9pm - or start your regimen earlier to finish earlier.
On the other hand, if it indicates that you have to take all at once ("once per day") then it would be taking all 3 at the same time.

Otherwise it would say "take 1 tablet 3 times a day (tid)", or "1 tablet up to 3 tablets daily as needed (prn)".
