What Do You Know Of Trimictal Side Effects

I started trimictal for bipolar. Slowly increasing dosage. But this week when I doubled again I Began getting pimples on my scalp.. ? Only other thing I take is subs and been on my em for 2 years. So not them. These things feel like built hairs real painful. Never experienced anything like it. Also night terrors started when I began trimictal.

I haven't been able to find any information on a medication by the name of Trimictal, could you be referring to Lamictal perhaps?

Based on my research, Lamotrigine, marketed in the US and most of Europe as Lamictal /lmktl/ by GlaxoSmithKline, is an anticonvulsant drug used in the treatment of epilepsy and bipolar disorder. It is also used off-label as an adjunct in treating clinical depression. For epilepsy, it is used to treat focal seizures, primary and secondary tonic-clonic seizures, and seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome. Like many other anticonvulsant medications, Lamotrigine also seems to act as an effective mood stabilizer, and has been the first U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved drug for this purpose since lithium, a drug approved almost 30 years earlier.

Adverse effects:

Lamotrigine prescribing information has a black box warning about life-threatening skin reactions, including Stevens–Johnson syndrome, DRESS syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis. The manufacturer states that nearly all cases appear in the first 2 to 8 weeks of therapy and if medication is suddenly stopped then resumed at the normal dosage. Patients should seek medical attention for any unexpected skin rash, as its presence is an indication of a possible serious or even deadly side-effect of the drug.

Are the pimples you are experiencing similar to a rash in any way? Have you spoken with your doctor about the night terrors yet?

I just got on lamotrigine 25 mg because zoloft was making me have all these mood swings ( 6 years later)
anyway I have noticed my moods a bit tranquil.. im not worried about what I use to be worried about.
My OCD of getting things done asap
worried about just everything
im calm

but dr says to work effectively it has to be at 100?! what if im ok at 25mg?
the goal is to taper off zoloft eventually
then this new drug of course
