I have a sinus infection and was prescribed Amox-clav 875. I want to know if I can take nyquil to help with the cough I have to ease it?

Hi I just had a gallbladder removal surgery and I was priscriped amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium and now I have a bad cough and it hurt my abdamon when I cough what kind of cough medicine can I take please help
