I chipped my front tooth a while back and now it is killing me. I have taken any and everything I could think of but nothing works. I do have the antibiotic cephalexin but still nothing.

Hello, Tamika! How are you?

How long did you take the antibiotic? It usually requires 7 to 10 days, though you should get some relief in after 3 days of dosing.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

However, the only long-term solution is to see your dentist and have the problem corrected. Even if the antibiotic clears up any infection that's present, it will just keep returning, if you don't have the tooth taken care of.

Is there anything else I can help with?
