I have just been told by my pharmacy that they will no longer fill my 30 mg oxycodone prescription. I have been prescribed 150 per month, for a few years, Now they (walgreens in North Palm beach) say they will only fill a prescription for 120 maximum per month. I am unsure of what to do?

You're going to get the same response, regardless of what pharmacy you use.

120 a month of any given dosage is the maximum amount that is allowed to be prescribed each month. Many pharmacies got in trouble for not enforcing the limits, so they no longer have a choice in the matter, they can't fill for any amount higher than 120 a month.

The only thing you can really do is talk to your doctor to have this one changed to an amount of 120 and then see if they'll prescribe a different dosage for the rest, then the pharmacy should be able to fill them both.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Please tell me where in Tampa I can go to get my script filled? I have been a chronic pain patient for twenty years. I have lived in Florida for three years and it is getting harder and harder. My pharm has just closed and I cannot get any of the 14 pharmacies that I have gone into to fill them for me. Two days away from withdraw.

I am having the same problem. Been thru withdraw twice and the pain is now above 10. Seen by doctor today and still can't get what he has ordered. Spend 100.00 dollars on gas and still no avail. they keep telling me they don't have it. I wish you well there are thousands of Floridians not able to get there pain medication. My quality of life is down the tubes. I feel short changed here. Am a Vet who served America and now am treated like this.

As for your morphine, I got mine filled at one of the Walgreen's here in Jacksonville. Not all of them had this in stock or were taking new patients. I just switched to a "Good Neighbor Pharmacy" and have no issues getting them now. Check around your area for one of the participating Good Neighbor Pharmacies. They are usually really small pharmacies, most in little strip malls. You may be able to search for one online in your area.

God love you if you need 150 mgs of Oxycodone per day! My pain management doctor's office just posted signs saying they won't prescribe any Oxycodone over 10 mgs, However, they might be able to prescribe two or three 10 mg pills for each dose. I am not sure what prompted this new "rule" including if it is that way everywhere, or if it is just their own. You may have to get the Fentanyl patch or have surgery if that is an option. I wish you the best and will pray that you get the relief you need.

That is very wrong walgreens ceo arrested a few years ago. They are super strict and they are getting easier to get because of pill mills havin shut down a lot so it is easier to get them from walmart east 1 very from the other I got 1 you got to break his arm to fill then I have another walmart pharmacy that pharmacist brakes there neck to order for you. Got to find a high volume pharmacy - that means they carry a lot of non narcotic medications - and the more non narcotic they have, they are allowed to carry more narcotics as well. The way you find and highline store is to go into where your well off people are or an area that old people are and that pharmacy will do a lot of business and that means they will have more oxycodone in stocks because it is a high volume store from people buying nana products like old people, they take 1 of something for everything.
