Weight Loss Of 10lbs While On Benicar

Maybe Benicar is the problem, so I want to get off 20mgs of Benicar that I'm thinking could be a factor, as it has caused a loss of appetite, cough, and fatigue. And instead of my usual 10:00 pm bedtime. I cant make it past 8:30. Constant loose stools 6 to 8 per day. Med lowers my blood pressure, but I want to get off.

The FDA classifies Benicar as an ARB and those can all be typical side effects of it. You may also experience headache and increased urination.

However, it is very important that you see your doctor to switch to a different medication and not just stop taking this medication. Letting your blood pressure go out of control puts you at risk of heart attack, stroke or congestive heart failure, all of which could be fatal.

Once the cough sets in with these medications, it usually doesn't go away and people that experience have to switch to something else, anyway. It happened to me with a couple medications that I tried.

After graually stopping benicar, diarrhea stopped, dehydration stopped, appetite improved and feeling my old self again. Benicar certainly isnt for everyone!!

Also developed c-diff. Benicar can cause villious atrophy which I believe cause a unbalance in intestinal flora so c-diff took over.the good bacteria. Going for colonoscoy and will know more later

I know your post is old, but I was on benicar , stopped after a month or so, I have lost over 34 lbs since May of 2016, have had colonscopy and endoscopy done, tomorrow having upper g. I. Test . I think that benicar has ruined my insides, mainly the villi, so many things I eat make me severely nauseated,weak and shaky . Would like to hear how you made out with tests. Thanks
