Weaing Off Xanax

I would like to start getting off Xanax gradually, how do I go about it........

yes..i did it..i quit col turkey..a friend monitored me..i quit after almost losing my arm in an accident. looking back now i know xanax's were causing me to make all kinds of mistakes i wouldn,t normally make..some with irreversible consequences. no easy way but quitting cold turkey..withdrawels are mind boggling..after some time has passed you will be convinced this is another one of the devil's great deception drugs!!! respectfully angela

how long have you ben takeing it and at what strength? withdrawl from any benzodiazopine can be fatal in extreme cases. in detox's if you test positive for this drug you must stay for 5-7 day while given a low dose of an antisezier drug like phenobabatol. if you have been on it for a while please see professional help, for your own sake. you could have a sezier

I have been taking Zanax for 18 years 1 mg 3 times aday. I know they are no longer helping me I just am terrified to withdraw. However I went to Dr. and told me it wont be easy, prescribed me Lexapro 20 mg. and I am totalally amazed at how well i am doing. I felt the Lexapro takeing my anxciety and anger away and in about 3 wks. I only started but I am down to 1/2 mg 1 to 2 times aday. thank-You Lexapro

i know many people, most young who are taking xanax. buying them off the street and getting hooked on them they are a terrible drug. it's hard to see this when your on them, but if you are taking them now i recommend that you get off them. take it from someone who's witnessed first hand the destruction they cause!!

i was up to 6 mgs a day after 6 years, gradaully came off but still had grand mal seizures cuz off withdrawal. be careful doing on your own. i wouldn't suggest cold turkey

Cold Turkey was very vivid, I almost died. There is a website devoted to Benzodiazepine withdrawals and issues, also there is the Dr. Ashton method which is the standard in withdrawal. Remember, if it ever get's really bad, make your way to the E.R.!
