Watson Fentanyl 25 & 12

I've been using the fentanyl patches for 4yrs now. Mostly Mylan brand (best out there). But the pharmacy switched to watson brand because of cheaper price. Here's the problem, for the last 5 months 6 patches out of 15 per month don't stick. They fall off within a couple of hours. Do you recommend some kind of cover tape that I can use? Because of the problems with these products I'm losing a lot of $$$. PLEASE HELP!!! Can someone please get back to me about this. Thanks for your time.

There is a cover tape available for them, most pharmacies carry it, so you may want to talk to your pharmacist about the problem.

The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I am also on Fentanyl patches. I've found that Tegaderm cover patches are the BEST way of keeping the Fentanyl patch in place. You can even shower with them on! Most pharmacies carry them in different sizes.

Here's a little tip to save some money in the Tegaderm cover patches - you can buy the largest patches and cut them in half, this gives you two for one. It doesn't affect the adhesive effect as long as you cut the Tegaderm while it is still in the package and only peel off the half you're going to use right then. Save the other half for your next application. Hope this helps!
