I am taking Vimpat 800 mg, and I would like to know more about this medication.

Be careful with whatever medicine(s) you take because I have been on all of them while relying only on conventional medicine and my doctors but none of them have worked to control epilepsy or depression until I solved the problems myself. Because of the side effects that I went through I could not live that way and learned of complementary & alternative medicine such as herbal supplements, yoga, biofeedback, meditation, deep breathing, acupuncture, magnet therapy, and bodytalk. Most natural approaches improved my physical and mental conditions, giving me spirituality and confidence to reduce or eliminate some prescriptions drugs that were doing no good to me, but causing hemorrhoids, diplopia, thoughts of suicide, bone loss, depression, blurry vision, weightgain, sleepiness, etc. Not only does a person learn by mistakes, but by experience...and that's a fact!!!

i hope i don't have to go the the amount of vimpat u were on after being a guinea-pig for so long vimpat has been the best. i tried it as it was only out, new. i am on 150am and pm and i am only having small ones at present. the side effects alot of them but i am not having alot. tiredness at the start + skin marks but if fits stay away i will b happy to keep them

Vimpat contains the active ingredient Lacosamide, this is used to help control seizures and some types of nerve pain.

Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation.

Also, it IS normal for your body to eventually adjust to the dosage of a medication you are taking, this requires a higher dosage to maintain its effectiveness or sometimes a switch to a different medication.

Everyone should also be aware that herbal remedies can be just as dangerous as prescription drugs and they carry the possibility of just as many side effects.

Hey there,

I couldn't agree more. I'd love to chat more and hear how you're doing now and what helped. I am weaning off as it has been a terrible drug they put me on and has over time developed symptoms which have gotten worse and worse... the main ones being seizures, sinus issues, and just feeling disoriented like I'm dying! Anyways been weaning off little by little! {edited for privacy}.
