Very Happy With Diaudid In Place Of 30mg Oxycodone

surprsingly with the doctor switching meds recently from 4 30mg roxies a day to 4 8mg dilaudid a day and he said he would increase to 12mg 4 times a day if i needed. they are weaker than my oxies but took 2 and ive been using opiate pain relief for 12 years. this stuff works well for pain and gives the nodding type feel. for me i like to crush them and use nasl. and swallow the other. took about an hour, and when we smoked a lil green(i dont smoke and rarely do it but did today and it kicked it all in ) and ive had a great day with no pain for 8 hours now and so very happy to have the pain relief of the oxycodone and able to fill it no problem. ide say ill ask him to give me the 12mg dilaudid next month instead of the 8mg which will be close to the equivelant to 12mg dilaudid to 30mg roxicodone. in any event just glad theres more than one medication that works for me as well as the oxycodone crushed and just need a little more but lasts longer and feel great.

I'm glad that it's working for you, but you should be aware that there can be risks associated with snorting tablets, since they aren't intended to be used that way.

Most tablets contain fillers and not all of them are meant to be broken down by the human body, they are normally just expelled as waste. But, if you crush and snort them, you take the risk of those fillers creating blockages in your sinuses and lungs. Too many blockages in your lungs also have the possibility of causing respiratory arrest.

And to actually equal the 30mgs of Oxycodone that you were taking, you'd need 11.25mgs of the Dilaudid.

I hear you. And appreciate the caring of a stranger. But I usually swallow my tabs, but have a habit of nasal one of them just to get it going without waiting 30-40 minutes. but you are absolutly correct and would reccomend anyone to use as directed and swallow. its a habit that began many yrs ago and its just that a habit.

dan, if u read your post again, u will see u clearly sound like a tweaked out pill head, and to share all of that med & dosing titration history is total and complete TMI and all the pill heads will be hating u & trying to hunt u down to steal your pills u so openly "brag" about....btw, are u taking these short term and if so, do u and your doc have a taper plan discussed? these forums are supposed to be helpful, and some are, but in all honesty, i think it's about time the opiate forums get shut down...they are nothing more than people trying to score drugs, lying to others, denying addiction, and people in withdrawl and/or high fighting via the internet or crying boo hoo effin HOO about who has the most broken stuff on their bodies all in trying to justify their escalating and dangerous addictions. it is not helpful to anyone, especially the kids on here looking to buy pills with the money they are stealing out of their mom & grandmom's pocketbook.

taking orally 25-35% bioavailability
taking intra nasal 55-60% bioavailability
i dont care about the feeling and just care about the pain relief and for me intranasal is the way to go. dont care about getting high, just pain gone and swallowing simply doesnt work well for me with this drug. everyone has their own way which works for them
