Vaium Dark Orange Pill 5 Mg

Updated

I was given 2 dark orange pills prior to surgery. The nurse was adamant that was 5 mg valium even though I questioned her that I've never seen very dark orange Valium, only light peach or pale yellow. What could it have been and why would she lie?

Hello, Judy! How are you?

There are orange Valium/Diazepam tablets that are manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals, they are 5mgs each. Just because you've only seen certain colors doesn't mean those are the one ones that exist. When a medication is available as a generic, it is usually manufactured by many different companies and they'll all have unique markings and can be whatever color they choose.

This is a benzodiazepine that's most commonly used to treat anxiety and nervous disorders. This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache and irritability.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Thanks for your input. The pills I was given were a very dark orange......not peach or pale orange. That's why I questioned them and was told it was 5 mg Valium. Have many sensitivities to meds and dyes and didn't want to take them. Since I was being prepped for surgery I was told there was no other choice. Later I found out there were other meds given during surgery that were on my list of allergies or sensitivities and I had adverse reactions. Some other "medical professionals" have also ignored my history and I've paid the price.

I am very sorry about that. It's horrible and I've experienced it myself, some of them just don't seem to accept that fact that you might know what does and doesn't work for you.

How are you feeling?

I found I'm not the only one who's gone thru this. My friend just told me her mother was given aspirin that she was highly allergic to and well-documented in her file. She had very serious problems because the nurse was negligent. What happened to our American health CARE system? With so many generics there are also chemical/additives/dyes that are bought in Asia, not overseen by FDA, and sensitive people are having more side effects than ever. Thank you again for your input.
