I found a tick embedded in my leg. I had an appointment with a dermatologist and asked about this bite which was red, and was given a 7 day course of antibiotics (doxycycline 100mg). Will this help tick bites?

Usually, an antibiotic is given after a tick bite to prevent the infections they can sometimes cause, such as Lyme's Disease.

The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash.

Is there anything else I can help with?

I'm taking an antibiotic 2x/day for a tick bite (and possibly Lyme disease). I take the first dose at 10 am and the second one at 5:30pm with dinner. Am I doing it wrong? Should I change to 10 and 10 (i.e. every 12 hours)? So far, I've been taking it for 4 days and I have 6 days to go.
