I have MS and have been taking Cylert for the past ten years, which has been effective in treating the symptoms related to cognitive damage caused from lesions in brain. Now Cylert is being pulled off the market, my neurologist wants me to try Provigil. Does anyone else with MS & cognitive issues (concentration/distorted perceptions/focus/etc.) have any info regarding this drug and if so, have they found it to be helpful? I understand MS related issues are difficult to discuss as everyone has different symptoms as a result of their MS. So if anyone is out there who is currently taking this drug to treat cognitive brain damage due to MS I would sincerely appreciate their thoughts/experiences. Thank you.

I began using Provigil January 2006 and find it helps me maintain focus and retain information. Fatigue is still a problem.

Christina-I had never heard of Cylert. I'mm disappointed I never had a chance to use this... it sounded effective. Provigil does wonders for fatigue. I have M.S. and my energy level is increased 10-fold taking this rx - although I take (2) 200 mg. tablets a day. Most people take only one. That may be why. I never was told it was useful for cognitive issues though. It does make things clearer and helps focus (like for ADHD), but I still have terrible memory issues which is primarily my cogitive issues with M.S. - I'd say give it a try--it's worth it for me either way!
Willow-possibly have your Physician up your medicine to (2) a day?! This helps me in between my IV therapy (Predisolone infusion).
Scarlett- I too would like info on Urimax. Why are you asking? Is it for fatigue? cogitive? or bladder/urinary issues?

I use provigil for narcolepsy but have a question about whether or not I have MS. IAbout 8 months ago I was put in the hosp. due to stroke like symptoms. My speech was impaired for 6 months. I had seizures they just disregarded it as that. I had to learn to walk for a week. It has never happened before. I have incontinence problems. I am only 43. They did a CAT scan and EEG. They said no stroke. what do you think?
