4 days ago i got a tattoo on my leg and i have eczema but its not a bad case of eczema. and now i think the eczema is starting to for all over my tattoo and it is itching very bad. can i use Triamcinolone Acetonide Ointment Usp, 0.1% on it while the tattoo is healing? PLEASE ANSWER SOON. IM DESPERATE

Hi Dana,

I don't personally have any experience with tattoos, but when my boyfriend got his I remember him telling me that they itched quite badly (he was told to slap them and not itch haha). He was instructed to only use a fragrance free, water based lotion- like Lubriderm. I'm not sure if Triamcinolone Acetonide ointment would damage your tattoo since I've read that the base is mineral oil and white petroleum. I don't believe that mineral oil can actually penetrate the skin, but it's probably not worth the risk- that's just my opinion however. My boyfriend used a tattoo after care vegan hemp lotion made by "The Merry Hempsters." It's really moisturizing, so you may want to give it a shot!
