I am a methadone patient and want to travel to New York . Am I able to bring it in the country ?

As long as you have a valid prescription from your doctor and keep it in the original labeled container that you receive from your doctor, or pharmacy, the U.S. allows you to bring in up to a 3 month supply.

But it is a controlled substance here, so as I said, you do have to have the proper documentation from your doctor, if there are any doubts, customs will seize it.

I answered this already but left out helpful info. You forgot to mention they won't let known drug addicts into tge US so you can't say it's MMT. Day chronic pain. Also definitely a letter but leave anything out that can show is for MMT like the Dr. LETTER, MAKE SURE THE LETTER HEAD doesn't say Methadone Clinic or anything like that. Hell, it's easier to be honest about what its for elsewhere. Only pkaced ive been eith it are israel and australia. Had to cancel a 3 week already paid for trip to thailand over ignorance. Some countries require u contact intetior health ministry and get letter of ok from them so the army don't arrest you at check pointd. Some vountries a dr note is not enough

Hi I will be travelling to the USA in October 2014 and want to know if I can bring my physeptone (methadone tablets). My doctor will give me a letter which confirms that the physeptone is for a medical illness. I am an Australian Citizen and this will be my first time travelling to the USA. As long as you have a prescription for that or you're on a methadone program with a methadone ID card you are permitted to take methadone anywhere
