starting from the month of April I have been getting my period 2 weeks once n it will be heavy till day 8. my last day of period will be normally day 10 or 11 and it will repeat back after 15 days from my previous last day of period. I went to the clinic and the doctor ordered transamin capsules 250mg and she asked me to take from day 1 of period till it stops completely. .I took the medicine everyday but not following the instructions given...I used to take 1 day once or sometimes twice a day..she prescribed 2 capsules 3 times a day. .my period stopped on 1st of september..and now I am having the signs of getting period since last week but its just not coming this the side effect of the medicine that im not getting period for this month..she prescribed the medicine for my last month period which started on 25th August and last day was 1st september. she prescribed the medication only for 7 days but I still have 8 capsules balance because I didn't tale it oncey period stopped. .I am just wondering why im not getting my period now??

Hello, Sonia! How are you?

The length of your cycle actually counts from the first day you have a full flow of bleeding, so yours was still of a normal length, which varies in women from 21 to 35 days, you were just bleeding longer than normal.

What type of doctor did you see, was it just a general practitioner?

The prolonged bleeding makes me suspect that your hormones are out of balance and you need someone to check that and prescribe something that will help balance them back out. Is there a gynecologist in your area that you can see?

Have you thought of trying oral contraceptives to regulate your cycle and shorten/lighten the bleeding?

Hello Sir, I am 50 yrs old. l have been getting my periods for 12 days heavy. In September I was admitted in the hospital for a week for blood transfusion of 2 bottles and all tests were clear. She prescribed me Transamin 250 mg, 4 tablets, 3 times daily. Now I have the same problem of heavy bleeding and started taking the Transamin today, but still bleeding has not stopped. I am becoming very weak. Please help me. What can I do, as I am outside of my country? I don't like to take the risk of going to the emergency hospital in this country so I need your help.
