Hello, DD! How are you?

Since you've been taking doses that high, withdrawing could be dangerous and stopping it may be complicated, thus, it would really be best to get medical assistance doing so.

The FDA lists the typical withdrawal effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, fatigue, diarrhea, fever, chills and seizures.

Can anyone else chime in with their experiences?

Yes, me to!! I take about the same amount or more a day. I have wanted to stop a bunch of times. I'm a middle aged woman.
I'm so scared of the withdrawal!!!
Slowly ween down, if you take 1000mg a day take 500mg a,day. Thats what iam going to try !!
Good luck!!

Why did you have to take such a high dose? I was told by my Dr that anything over 400 mg did not help. I have taken for 15 yrs and never went over 300 mg a day, with great relief from fibro pain. Slow withdrawal with medical help should be sought. Good luck!

I wish people would learn definitions ...... addiciction .... is a compusion to take epidemic ..... is a wide spread infectous disease .....
Thus chronic pain patients are not addicts nor is the opiod abuse problem an epidemic
Unless you take you medication for non-medical reasons and cant live without it compulstion you are NOT an addict ...... if you want to stop taking it then start spreading out how often you take it ..... reduce the amount you take each day ... if you take 3 reduce it to 2 or 2 1/2 for a week or 2 the rduce it again and so forth until you reduce it to the point of not taking it ................ of course you should talk to your doctor about this idea before proceeding

I am not on Tramadol but I am on Percocet 10/325 and every month I run out early by at least 3 days. I know that when I detox it is horrible! One thing I found that helps me very much and I would even go as far as saying that it helps with minor pain is Kratom. The reds I guess are for Pain, so I took a half tsp 2/3 times a days with a cup of water and it took away the hot flashes, diahreah and kinda made me feel ok, I could function. But I still had to much pain so I tried Flexeral with my dr.s help of course. The Flexeral helps with withdrawl/ and Pain also but I would not use for more than a few days, it will help you sleep the first few days...The first 3 days are the worst, after 5 days your symptoms are usually much less but if you are addicted mentally, then you will have to find something to do with your time so you wont think about it.

Whý not try using the kraton thru thu month with ur med so u can spread our time between doeses then maybe you wont run out ..... my self i usually seperate my med for a week at a time it helps to control quanity so i know how many i have .... asked pharmisist for xtra script label and put it on a diabetic test strip bottle so i can carry with and avoid hassle if a police issue occurs ...... hopefully you can find a way to not over take ur meds so u dont continue to run out even if its seperating them a days worth at a time .... thx for the info on katon have been wondering bout it ... be well

Re: Roro (# 6) Expand Referenced Message

Kratom helps kinda like a tylenol and helps w symptoms of withdrawl. They say dont take while taking opiates because it comes from the opiate leaves. It is very gritty and a bit hard to get down for me. I was drinking it in hot water like tea, but i found mixing it with a smaller amount of water and very quickly drinking it works better. I usually only run out a cpl. Days early if I am trying to do to much, I try not to do so much now and going to bed earlier seems to help.

I was prescribed Tramadol years ago for a herniated disc & muscle spasms. My dr gave them because it was supposed to be less habit formin is habit forming than an opioid. Well, I decided I didn’t want to take them anymore since they really didn’t work. But the side effects from stopping were much worse then any opioid I ever had. It took almost a year to get off them. I would reduce the number of dosages every month until I was able to completely stop them. My only advice is to get off them but do it slowly because the withdrawal is far worse then your original pain. They need to stop perscribing this drug. I hope you can get off them but do it slowly. I wish you well & good luck.
