Toothache

I extracted my wisdom (molar) teeth - right lower 2 weeks back. I am feeling a pain in the next adjacent teeth. Doctor prescribed root canal, but I am going on a tour from tomorrow for 2 weeks. Is there any intermediate solution to this?

I've been on amoxicillin for a week and Tylenol 3 and my tooth still hurts. Is it because I'm still drinking soda? Is that why I'm still in pain?
