Tofranil Imipramine

I've not heard of it being used for such conditions. This medication is classified by the FDA as a tricyclic antidepressant that's used to treat mental health conditions, though some of them can help with some types of nerve pain, which may be why your doctor prescribed it for you.

Its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and weight gain.

I was on this medication during my second pregnancy. The doctor took me off 10mg of Valium as was not safe for the baby and put me on Imipramine 10mg throughout the whole pregnancy and thereafter. It was due to me having post-partum depression with the birth of my first baby. I would like to find out if anyone experienced weight gain with Imipramine? If so, how much and what else they found helpful with this medication. Much appreciate:) I am going off Prozac, due to aggression, agitation, anger etc....after on it for a long time, told doctors don't like side effects. Put me back on the old medication Imipramine. What are your thoughts on this and also Latuda 40mg with it and Ativan 2mg all taken a bedtime. Thanks again:) Mia
