Tigan Inj. Shelf Life

How long can you use tigan after the expiration date? The inj. version of tigan? We keep it in a dark cool place and have a brand new bottle and it's that time of year for the stomach virus.

There isn't necessarily any time of year for stomach viruses, there are several that one could catch and they can occur any time of year. I got a very nasty one back in October and was miserable. The best preventative is washing your hands regularly to help prevent transmission to yourself and others.

As to the expired medication, it would be best to dispose of it and obtain a new supply, if you need it. Liquid medications tend to degrade much faster than other forms and they can actually go bad and may make you ill, if you use them.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including dizziness and drowsiness.
