Sulfamethoxazole.tmp Ds 800 - 150 For Sinusitis

Put on medication four days ago, 2 a day. How long before I can feel like a human again?

I started with a sinue infection on the 2nd of April. This is usual for this time of year. Used over the counter meds. It became worse. Coughed all day and night. Finally went to a clinic on the 11th. That Dr. just checked my sinusis on the face. Blood pressure very good. He told me by just checking the facial sinusis that it was a bacterial sinus infection. Put me on Sulfamethoxazole-TMP DC 800-160 for 15 days. I have felt any change and would like to begin feeling human again. I started a rash on my anckles. They said to take benedryal. When can I start feeling better with the med.? I also get nausiated taking this.

Usually, you should start to see improvement with an antibiotic after taking it for 3 days, so if there's been no change, yet, then it may mean that this antibiotic isn't working for you. You may need to try a different one.

The FDA lists the typical antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.
