It was prescribed for cellulitis. I'm allergic to penicillin and am looking for information on whether sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim is used to treat cellulitis?

Yes, it can be prescribed to treat cellulitis, it is a broad spectrum antibiotic.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea.

Is there anything else I can help with?
