Sulfameth Trimethoprim Side Effects Tendon Damage

I took this for a week which ended about a month ago. I'm 46 and a runner. Since taking these meds, my left heel and calf have hurt (tender on the inside of heel under ankle and tight calf). Now my right ankle has begun hurting and I've never had issues with these before. I can barely walk in the mornings. What are my options here? I'm certain there was no mention of tendon damage in the side effects. I don't need a 6 month layoff from running and constant pain to boot.

Hello, Jeff! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you've been having.

This antibiotic isn't one of those known to cause that type of problem, but it would likely be best to have it checked out, just to be sure.

Are you on any other medications? Do have any medical conditions?
