Subutex Pregnant

i have been on subutek for 6 months now and just found out i am 6 weeks pregnant and im scared on what to do am i to try to quit the subutek or if i stay on them what are the laws in tenn for using subutek while pregnant?

It is the preferred drug to be used during pregnancy and your doctor can help you make sure that you see someone who is knowledgeable about using it during pregnancy.

The FDA classifies this medication as an opiate that is most commonly used to treat drug addiction, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is anyone familiar with the laws in TN?

Tennessee has the "safe harbor act" which states as long as you are in treatment with suboxone/subutex/methadone by prescription you and your baby are protected from being prosecuted and DCS cannot take your baby.. Be sure to get into treatment with an MD if you are not already. Be sure to remain compliant and pass your drug panels because DCS can and will ask for your records to make sure you are in a program somewhere to close your case....Kindest Regards and Congratulations!!
