Suboxone Use

I want to get clean as I have been on opiates for too long. Please advise.

Hi Tina! I was on opiates for 11 years and became sick and tired of addiction. I've been on suboxone for 10 years now and my life has been so much better. It helps with withdrawals and cravings. It's up to you which route you want to take to get clean. Some people go cold turkey, some go on methadone and others take suboxone. I've tried cold turkey and suffered severely. But everyone is different. Were you looking for information about suboxone or thinking about getting on it? If you have any questions I would be happy to help.

stop taking opiates. You will get very sick, no way around this. You can accelerate the process by taking an antagonist, not something I would recommend unless I still had some.

Suboxone has helped many people to successfully stop taking opiates, and to eventually become completely drug free.

However, the FDA does warn that it is an opiate itself, so it also carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

Unlike what Steve stated, it is not advisable to stop cold turkey, if you have been taking high amounts for a long time, since that could create the risk of your experiencing possibly dangerous withdrawal symptoms, such as seizures.
