Suboxone Questions

Updated

I have been taking pain pills for 7 years. I detoxed myself off Methadone and I almost had a heart attack. I started using when I was 23. I hurt my back, broke my tail bone, then at 25 I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Now at 28, 13 surgeries later I'm addicted. I want my life back. I did detox myself once and for 6 months I was clean. The pain associated with detoxing was horrible. My chest hurt, my heart hurt, my legs, back, neck you name it. I have an enlarged kidney and I had a kidney stone that had to be surgically removed. That's all she wrote. I am a single mother trying to make it in this world. I have fought to save my life. At 21 I contracted an infection from a hospital after giving birth to my son. 8 days on IV antibiotics saved me, only 3% of people survive what I did. Then at 25 I.was diagnosed with cancer in my right ovary, my left ovary was hemorrhaging, I have endometriosis, bursting cyst and polyps in my uterus. Two surgery in 2 months and I was okay. Due to all of that, scar tissue builds up. Then endometriosis kicks in. My kidney acts up And it's a surgery again. I'm sick of surgery, I'm sick of pills, I'm sick of getting my life together and going on medical leave only to lose my home my job and everything I worked so hard for. After reading post. I think that this program is for me. I will not lie yes I'm addicted. Yes I self medicate. Yes I'm ready to change my life. How do I go about getting on this program? I have the will power and the faith. But I need a little help. I see that I am not the only one that has tried to function while going through withdrawal, raising kids, working and trying to dig myself out of this hell. I did what AA says. Change your friends, I got a divorce. Moved away etc. I tried to avoid the pain pills. Having so many surgeries doesn't help my addicting. Today was my 6 week checkup from one surgery an yesterday was my 2 week checkup from another. From all my sickness scar tissue adhered my liver to my diaphragm. Each time I took a breath, moved, or did anything I pulled my liver apart. It hurt to breath move sleep eat, I still worked but it was hard. I did a labor job. So they are quick to hand out the pills. But they don't have any resources to help get people off. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated and taken seriously. Do not judge me. As of right now I have a clean bill of health. My only problem is my addiction. Please help.

Hello, PookieLinn! How are you doing? I am very sorry about what you've been through.

You can find out more about Suboxone via the website at Suboxone.com, there is also a search engine to check for doctors in your area that treat with it.

This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

Is there anything else I can help with?

Thank you. I will definitely look into doctors in my area, I'm ready to have my life back. It definitely doesn't help with depression and feeling like a horrible mother. Like I said they are eager to hand them out but they don't want to help anyone get off of opioid addiction. I am upset with myself. This time last year I was doing so good. I can't help tho my medical history tho. :/

I like you have had my problems! I have two daughters who depend on me , prescribed pain pills and xanaxs did it for me, but i ended up being a addict and dependent on it ! So it took to the point where i overdosed and very close to me not being here for my children to open my eyes and see that i was a addict! My doctor released me from the hospital and said that i was not addicted cause i did not g through withdrawing the 72hours i was there, as much drugs and liquor that i had in my system i probably could of been high for a week,( first weekend i had without my kids, partied hard, to hard) anyways i didn't do anything about it and didn't touch another pill, pot,or even drink for 2 years then of course started Talking to the wrong people again and building my habit back up. Out of no where i was like i refuse to do this life again! I will not put my children through this horrible mess! And i found suboxone, best thing ive ever did. I refused to do the methadone "help"! Thats not help in my eyes. But do beware of the addiction it has and do not or try to not be on it long. Best wishes!
