It is a narcotic, so it should start to have some effect within 15 to 20 minutes of taking it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.
However, some people have reported it that it really didn't help their pain, so if it does nothing to alleviate yours, you may need to try a different medication.
