How long is this med good to take? At what point does it begin to lose its efficacy?

If it is in a bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, then the expiration date is one year from when it was filled for you, because that bottle can leave it exposed to the elements that cause degradation, so it begins to lose efficacy after that year.

If it is in the original factory sealed container, then they are usually good for 4 to 5 years, until the seal is broken.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea.

I have a bottle of bactrim 800.....I take it for MRSA break out....it's from 2013, I've had a break out and need it quickly, new Dr won't give it to me and can't get in to see her for 2 was....I've taken some already, first day I took 2, then 1 a day after that since day before yesterday, and I hope the new year will be good for you.
