Smz Tmp And Pancreatitis

After taking smz/tmp for five days, I had severe nausea and pain. I went to the emergency room and found out I had pancreatitis & had my gall bladder removed. Can this cause pancreatitis?

Yes, pancreatitis can be drug induced and this antibiotic has been known to cause it, as listed among the possible side effects provided by the FDA. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea and non-allergic skin rash.

I am not a doctor, so I can't definitively say that's what caused it, but it has happened. Are you on any other medications?
